Mary Emily Bishop died Monday, October 25, 2021 in Woodward.
Mary Emily (Bish) Bishop was born at home 1 1/2 miles west of Mutual, Oklahoma to William Alexander and Hazel Nancy (Roberts) Bish on August 4, 1926. Mary Emily grew up in Mutual attending school there from 1st grade through 12th grade, graduating from Mutual High School in 1944.
Mary Emily had a tragedy in her family when she was only four years old. Her sister Margaret died at seven years old from diphtheria and her mother died one week later from a surgical complication. As coincidence would have it both Mary Emily and her sister Margaret ended up passing away on the same date October 25th. Mary grew up and flourished under the loving care of her father, older brother, and grandmother.
Mary Emily moved to Woodward after graduation and began working at the Bank of Woodward. She met and was married to Milo Walter Bishop on February 2, 1947 at the First United Methodist Church in Woodward.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Larry and Ann Bishop; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Link Alley; grandchildren Tanya and husband Toby Neff, Amber and husband Chad Jones, Jamie and husband Bowdy Peach, Stacy Alley, Aric and wife Brooke Alley, Ashley Alley, Sarah and husband Charles Roach, Shannon and husband Michael Drayton, Stephanie Alley, Anthony Alley, Susan Alley; step-granddaughters, Melissa (Conine) and husband Kevin Devine, Meleah Conine; 24 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three nephews; other family and many friends.
Mary Emily was preceded in death by her husband Milo Walter Bishop, father William (Bill) and mother Hazel Bish, brother, Charles (Billy) and wife Ethel Bish, sister, Margaret Bish, grandson, Aaron Alley, stepson, Mike Conine and wife Edna.
Funeral Services were Friday, October 29, 2021 in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Shannon Davis officiating with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
