Marion Clark Bush was born December 23, 1923 in Uniform, Alabama and is survived by his wife Louise Peavy Bush, his son William Bryant Bush and two grandsons William Michael Bush and Bryant Matthew Bush. As a child, Marion suffered through the great depression and later spent some of his early teen years with family in New Orleans before moving permanently to Mobile. In 1940 he graduated from Murphy High School and went to work constructing Brookley Air Force Base. In 1943 he entered the military serving in the Army's 159th Engineer Combat Battalion. Marion spent the night of June 5, 1944 in a landing craft waiting to storm Utah beach. He had battle citations for Normandy, Northern France, Battle of the Bulge, Rhineland and Central Europe. He discharged in December 1945 and returned to Mobile. He worked GM&O, Brookley AFB, Dauphin Island Radar Base, Keesler AFB and retired from the Terminal Railroad at the Alabama State Docks. Marion's favorite past times include fishing, working in his yard, growing vegetables in his garden, Alabama football and being with his wife of 66 years, Louise, whom he affectionately called Lucy. He lived a blessed life and is greatly missed. A graveside service will be held on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
