KERNERSVILLE – Darrell Eugene Stephens, 62, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Darrell was born on December 6, 1958 in Guilford County to Carl Eugene and Peggy Biggs Stephens. Darrell loved traveling, animals, and sports. He was an avid Nascar fan and frequented 311 Speedway, helping on some of the race teams. Darrell was also a huge fan of UNC Tarheels Basketball and had a great admiration for eagles, spurring a gigantic eagle collection. He enjoyed helping people and never met a stranger. Darrell's greatest love was for his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Carl Stephens; and uncle, Harold Stephens.

Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Teresa Stephens; a daughter, Crystal Stephens Moose (Mark); a step-daughter, Stephanie Hefner; five grandchildren, Aidan, Hope, Faith, Zachary, and Hunter; his mother, Peggy Stephens Powers; a sister, Pamela Stephens Alford (Adam); and numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Madison, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
