Mike Martin, 69, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, October, 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 30, 1952 in Portsmouth to the late Harry Martin, Jr., and Edith Louise (Payton) Martin.

Mike was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War, and a member of the National American Legion 40/8.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers; Fred Martin and Tony Martin, and a sister, Bonnie Martin.

Mike is survived by his special friend, Julie Hizer, of Portsmouth, son, Casey Meier, of Dade City, FL, and two sisters; Tina Martin, of Minford, and Candy Boatman (Shawn), of Portsmouth. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Jake Meier, Nathan Hood (Allyson), Luke Lindamood, Brantley Reynolds, Megan Hood, Brooklyn Hood, and Brittany Reynolds (Ed), and two great-grandchildren; Jayden Michael and Emily Jo.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott with military graveside rites provided by the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday.
