Barbara Jones Woods, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on June 5, 2021, in Douglasville, GA, at the age of 67.
She was born on March 13, 1954, in New Orleans, LA. Beloved wife of Sylvester Woods for 41 years. Daughter of the late Wilmore Jones and Della Marie Jones. Mother of Rachel Woods, Jason Woods and Jonathan Woods (Sandra Eileen). Grandmother of Landen Spears and Sylvester Woods II. Sibling of Raymond Jones, Allen Jones (Charlene), Dennis Jones, Shaun Jones (Karen), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Barbara attended McDonogh 35 High School and Tulane University and proudly worked 37 years until her retirement at the US Army Corps of Engineers. She was a loving and joyful light and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at New Mountain Top Baptist Church, 7822 Conners Rd, Winston, GA 30187. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 3721 Bankhead Hwy, Douglasville, GA 30134. A memorial service will be held in her honor in New Orleans, LA at a later date.
