Martin Anthony Rhodes was born on Oct. 15, 1964, in Sumter County, a son of the late Hezekiah Sr. and Elizabeth Janie Rhodes. He departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, at home after living a fruitful life.

At an early age, he accepted Christ into his life at Walker Avenue Church of God in Sumter. Later, he became a faithful member of ALIVE Praise and Worship Center & Ministries in Sumter. He was a praying man who loved God. He loved listening to music and always had a song in his heart. He was a simple but pleasant man with a kind soul who cared for others and believed in peace, love and happiness.

He leaves to celebrate his life: three sisters, Vermelle Nwokeji, Delores (Robert Lee) Baxter and Beverly Rhodes; one brother, Richard Rhodes; aunts, uncles, an abundant number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He will be met with loving arms by grandparents; mother; father; brothers, Frank Rhodes and Hezekiah Rhodes Jr.; sister, Laura McConnico; niece, Quindara Rhodes; and nephew, Reginald Baxter.

Funeral services; ALIVE Praise and Worship Center & Ministries, 342 W. Liberty St., Sumter, SC 29150.

Interment; Aycock Cemetery.
