Bessie Grace Dobler, 93, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Osage Nursing Center in Osage City.

Bessie Grace Neilson was born August 10, 1928 in Osage City, the daughter of Claude and Bessie (Vaughn) Neilson.

She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1946. She worked in Kansas City and moved to Arizona where she met Lloyd Dobler and was joined in marriage on April 15, 1952 in Prescott, Arizona. They moved backed to Kansas in 1969 and she helped operate Dobler Surveying.

Grace was an artist and attended the KC Art Institute in the late 1940's and later got a degree in fine arts from Emporia State University in 1982.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth (Mike) Rodee of Wichita; a son, Neil (Beth) Dobler of Topeka; two sisters, Claudine McArthur of Williamsburg, Kansas and Donna Foltz of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, on June 11, 2015 and a brother, Bill Neilson.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church in Osage City. Family will receive friends an hour before service at the church. Burial to follow service at the Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523. Condolences may be expressed at the funeral home's website.
