Kevin J. Scott, age 60, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was employed at Thomas-Do-It Center, in Gallipolis, and later in Middleport. He loved spending time with his family and you could usually find him cruising around town in his golf cart. He was born March 20, 1960, in Gallipolis, a son to Jerry Scott, of New Haven, and the late Phyllis (VanMatre) Scott. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mabel Long.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Vonda (Hill) Scott; his children, Gabe Scott, of Point Pleasant, and daughter, Mady Scott, of Huntington; step-children, Andy Layton, of Point Pleasant, and Brad Layton, of Huntington; his grandchildren, Noah Litchfield, Hayden Scott, and Natalie Layton; his father, Jerry Scott, of New Haven; sister and brother-in-law, Lesa (Steven) Carpenter, of New Haven; brother and sister-in-law, Matthew (Tammy) Scott, of Letart; step-siblings, David (Susie) Hill, of Montana, Mark (Connie) Hill, of Point Pleasant, and Rhonda (Larry) Russell, of Gallipolis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss him.
There will be a memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Pastor and good friend, Bob Patterson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the service. CDC guidelines will be observed and face coverings will be required. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions in Kevin's name be made to: Donate Life, 701 East Byrd St., 16th floor, Richmond, VA, 23219.
