Loyd Wayne Umstead, age 93 went on to be with Jesus on May 15, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his wife Era Jean Umstead, his mother and father, Freeman and Lucile Umstead, brother George Washington Umstead, sister Marie Umstead and his son Lloyd Freeman Umstead.

He is survived by three children. Gerald Smith Umstead (Dale Umstead), Vickie Lee Alsup (Cedric Alsup) and Pamela Jo Wilson, Sister Betty Jean Kelly. 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

He proudly served in the US Army during World War Two. Among many other trades, he served the Ford motor company for 38 years. Always a hard worker, he enjoyed raising cattle, growing a huge garden and feeding as many of his family and neighbors as he could. He worried about many things but nothing exceeded his love and worry for his family. His entire life he loved spending time outdoors. Fishing especially. He was blessed with a long life and so many were blessed by him. He will be missed until we meet again in glory.
