Donald Lee Moses, 85, of Arcadia, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2021 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, with family by his side. He was born October 10, 1936 in Deshler, Ohio to Ancel R. and Ethel E. (Stiles) Moses.

He married Waunita Ethel Coldiron on August 10, 1957 in the Deshler Methodist Church. Waunita went to be with God on December 15, 1998. Don is survived by five sons, Ronald L. (Brenda), Donald E. (Lisa), Lonnie R. (Mary), and Thomas E. (Karen) all of Arcadia and John M. (Kim) of Bloomdale; 12 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Marilyn (Ray) Galant of Findlay. His son Arnold (Arnie) Moses passed away in 1969; and two brothers who are deceased, Eugene (Helen) and Richard Moses.

Don graduated from Deshler High School, Class of 1954. He always liked to talk about when he played for Garrold Parrott, his high school coach. The four years he was in high school, their record was 87 wins and 6 losses. He helped coached the Arcadia Vikings Jr. Pony Team from 1965-1972. He helped start the Arcadia Midget Football Program in 1968.

Don served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957. He was stationed in Alaska from 1954-1956. He was on the Alaska Armed Forces All-star Baseball Team that played the Seattle Rainer at 11:00 p.m. on June 21, 1955 in Fairbanks, Alaska with no lights on. It stayed daylight for 24 hours.

Don worked at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company and retired in April 1994 after 35 years.

He was a proud member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church, was President of the Wesley Class, and on The Mission Team. He was president of the Lions Club and donated his time to the Arcadia Lions Community Center, park, and the ball diamonds.

In 2011 and 2012 Don was Lion of the Year in Zone 7. He was awarded The Grand Master's Community Service Award in 2016 from The 10th Masonic District and The Grand Lodge of Ohio. In 2020, he was inducted into The Arcadia High School Hall of Fame for decades of dedication and service to Arcadia sports programs.

We would like to thank Orion Cancer Care, the 5th Floor staff at BVH, and the staff at Bridge Hospice Care Center for all their care and compassion.
