Lucille C. (Place) Reger, age 88, of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and formerly of Mineral Point, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 28, 1912 in Platteville, Wisconsin to Eugene and Louisa (Scheel) Place. She married Walter James Reger and they worked on various farms until they bought their own land in the Lost Grove area of Mineral Point in 1955. They farmed until Walter's retirement, and then they worked at the Cobb canning factory and Boscobel state tree nursery for several years. Lucille loved to garden, both vegetables and flowers and had plants throughout her home.
Survivors include a son, Norman (Sally) Reger of Prairie du Chien; a daughter Karen (friend Russell Crane) Reger of Madison; a sister, Elvea Meyer of Romulus, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Place of Stitzer, Wisconsin and Dorothy Place of Platteville, Wisconsin; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in May, 1994; a son Dale Reger and a daughter-in-law Beverly (Crooks) Reger in April, 1985; a sister and six brothers.
A memorial service will be held at Grogen Funeral Home in Mineral Point at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2001.
