Mr. James H. Woods, 67, of Port Wentworth, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

He was born in Savannah to the late James E. Woods and Irene Phillips Woods. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charlie Ray Turnbow, a grandson, Little James Turnbow, and a sister, Carolyn Hendrix. He was the founder and former operator of Woods Seafood and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of LifeSpring Worship Center.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Eloise B. Woods; children, George Ray Turnbow (Kay Cox), Tim Turnbow (Sonya), and Tina Newman (Spike); grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica and George Turnbow, Preston and Brandon Turnbow, Richard Walls, Holly Walls, Kristina Yates, Lauren Birchfield, Cory Steedly, Little Charlie Turnbow, Justin, Stephen, and Christopher Dampier, Michael Daniels, Tamra Turnbow, Mikaela Turnbow, David Turnbow, Courtney Newman, Kaylee Newman (Theron), Samara Newman and Preston Newman; great-grandchildren, Khloe Arnold, Greyson Pickard, Gracie Turnbow, and Ryder James Turnbow; brother-in-law, Frank Hendrix; sister, Pat Hendrix (Floyd); several nieces and nephews, and his care giver, Nicki Peardon.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.

The funeral will be on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
