John Paul Harwood, 78, of Union City passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Dukedom.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.

John was born December 17, 1942, in Weakley County, son of the late Johnny and Tommie (Holmes) Harwood. He married Betty (Lane) Harwood August 31, 1974. She survives. John was retired from Jimmy Dean Foods in Newbern.

He is also survived by two daughters, Pamela Crone and husband Chester of Obion and Paula Waller and husband Mike of Newbern; one son, John Robert Harwood and wife Denise of Texas; one stepdaughter, Sheila Florez and husband Eric of Union City; one stepson, Joey Rambo of Union City; ten grandchildren, Jazzmin Harwood, Xavier Harwood, Johnnie Hodge, Justin Hodge, Bobby Faulkner, Ashley Faulkner, Grant Parnell, Brandon Parnell, David Choate and Daniel Choate; and ten great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Harwood Phillips.
