McGan [sic].
Catherine McGan [sic] died at her late home, 513 West Washington street, at 5:45 o'clock Friday morning, aged 74 years, 6 months and 9 days. Funeral services will be held at the Catholic church Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, interment in the Catholic cemetery north of this city.
Deceased was born in the county of Roscommon, Ireland, Dec. 26, and came to this country in the year 1847. She was united in marriage to Michael McGan [sic] in 1849 and came to this county where they have since resided. Her husband died some time ago. To this union were born ten children, all of whom survive. They are P. H., of this city, Richard of Kansas, Mrs. Nell McCaffrey of Maryville, Mo., Mrs. Mollie Burke of this city, Mrs. Jessie McSperritt of Kansas, Miss Kittie McGan [sic] of Galesburg, Miss Lizzie of this city, M. W. of Nebraska, Mrs. Tressa Lee of Hancock county and Mrs. Susan Riley of Galesburg. She leaves also one brother, John Simmons of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Bridget Gulday of Chicago.~This newspaper was regularly published on Thursdays. It appears that Mrs. McGann died on Friday, July 5, funeral and burial then held on Sunday, July 7. It would have been highly irregular, in Macomb in 1901, for the funeral to have been held over for a week.
