Funeral services for Orin Fisher, 41, who died at the home of his mother at 2 a.m. March 19 were conducted at the Vernal First Ward Chapel Sunday at 1 p.m. The speakers, all friends and neighbors of the deceased were John L. McConkie, Fuller Remington and Archie Johnson. Closing remarks were made by Bishop Pontha Calder, who also conducted the services.
The opening prayer was by Atorney Wallace Calder and the benediction by Charles H. Colton. "Sometime We'll Understand" was sung by a double mixed quartet, accompanied by Mrs. Mable Stagg. Miss Meda Walker sang a soprano solo, "Goin Home," accompanied by Miss Helen Calder. Mrs. Mae Jorgensen sang, "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose," accompanied by Miss Calder. "Oh My Father," was sung by the quartet, with Mrs. Jorgensen singing the solo part. Besides Mrs. Jorgensen and Miss Walker, other members of the quartet were Mrs. Clark Newell, Mrs. Mae Calder, Miss Calder, F. J. Kennard, W. B. Wallis, Harold E. Davis and Clark Newell.
Interment was made in the Fairview Cemetery, with Warren Richardson dedicating the grave. The pallbeares were Don, George and James Fisher, Reed and Sterling Bodily and Rulon Hardy.
Orin Elwin Fisher was born at Maeser, April 28, 1895, a son of Moroni and Mary Peterson. He was divorced from Mae Bascom after his marriage about 20 years ago.
Besides his mother, he is survived by three brothers, George Fisher, Altonah; James Fisher, Alterra; Don Fisher, Lone Tree, Wyoming; five sisters, Mrs. Alice Bodily, Mrs. Jan Hardy, both of Vernal; Mrs. Elsie Hall, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Hattie Miller, Helper; Mrs. Nellie Eaton, Vernal.
Mr. Fisher worked in the gilsonite mines near Watson for a number of years.
All of the family were present at the services bu Mrs. Hall of Canada.
