Virginia M. Dress Kennedy, 92 of Cora died Wednesday, October 20th at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born April 4, 1929 in Cherry Tree Addition, she is the daughter of the late Toney and Mary (Petrovich) Dress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Kennedy Sr., son Mark Alan Kennedy, daughter Connie Kennedy Hall, four brothers; Joe Dress, John Dress, Albert Dress, and Pete Dress, and four sisters; Frances Orso, Jennie Kitchen Kovach, Ethel Gargan, and Ann Cocimano.
Virginia was a 1947 graduate of Logan High School and had a brief career as a telephone operator before getting married and becoming a homemaker and an amazing mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church
Those left to cherish her memory include one Sister, Charlotte Simpkins; four sons, Marion "Kip" Kennedy Jr., Charles (Jeff Evans) Kennedy, Anthony "Tony" Kennedy, and Tommy Kennedy, Daughter-in-law, Sherry Corazon Kennedy and dear friends Sandy White and Glenna Conley Baisden. 11 grandchildren; Marion 'Bo' (Jessica) Kennedy, Brandi (Nick) Zorotovich, Krysten Norman, T.J. Norman, Antonio Kennedy, Daniel Kennedy, Nathan Kennedy, Connie Kennedy, Celeste Kennedy, Austin (Emily) Kennedy, and Emily (Clayton) Kitchens, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
