Hannah Emily Gordon, age 35, of Franklin, IN, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Hannah was born in Indianapolis on November 19, 1985, to James and Brenda (Beeler) Gordon.
Hannah was a very special and loving child whose smile and laughter could light up a room. There are people in this world who have many blessings that Hannah never had and yet they don't appreciate those blessings. They have good health, but they abuse it and take it for granted. They can walk but they don't know which way to go. They have arms but they can't use them to reach out to others. They can speak but they don't know how to tell others they love them. That was never a problem for Hannah. She could express her love with a look, with a smile, with a hug or a laugh. Love isn't only shared through words. Love can be much deeper than words. She always knew that, and she shared it with those people who took the time to know her well and who truly, deeply cared for Hannah. She helped teach others to find and know joy in the simple things. Hannah's joy was found in watching UFC and football with her dad, the pool, riding in the car over hills with the windows down so it would blow her hair, a random sunbeam shining on her, Italian food, pancakes, her dog Harvey, and most of all, just being with her family. The family looked to her as an example of perseverance and inner strength as she continued to fight battles in health and limitations that would crush most people. She showed what it is to be strong, because strength is not just found in being the biggest, the toughest or the fastest. True strength is found in one who keeps on going, keeps on trying day after day and long after others give up. Strength is found in one who knows success isn't always big and flashy but knows that sometimes the greatest success is found in the tiniest of victories. In this way, Hannah was a true hero and will be so sadly missed.
Survivors include her parents and her brother, Gabriel J. Gordon of Indianapolis, IN. Hannah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gilbert (Gib) and Elizabeth (Betty) Gordon and Adrian (Hap) and Aileen Beeler.
Memorial contributions can be made in Hannah's memory to St. Jude's Hospital or Peyton Manning Children's Hospital.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46142. All services will be private.
