Mrs. Adam Heckaman, seventy-four years old, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at her home in Bourbon from a heart attack. Mrs. Heckaman's maiden name was Wilds Jane Bayes and she was born November 3, 1864, in Ohio. On March 15, 1886, she was united in marriage with Adam Heckaman, who preceded her in death in June, 1937.
Surviving relatives are three sons, Oral A. Heckaman of Napoleon, Mich., and Harrison H. and Harold Heckaman of Bremen; two daughters, Mrs. Muriel Williamson and Zelma Hatfield of South Bend; one sister, Mrs. Zethyr Ringgenberg of Bourbon and one brother, Charles E. Bayes of Columbus, Mississippi. There are twenty-four grandchildren and fourteen great grand children.
Mrs. Heckaman had been a resident of Bourbon for thirty-four years and was an active worker in the W. C. T. U. She served as president of the Bourbon Union for sixteen years. Funeral services will held Friday afternoon at two oclock in the Bourbon United Brethren church. Rev. H. H. Blackburn, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in the Sandridge cemetery.
