Crystal Jones Davis peacefully transitioned from her mortal life into life eternal in the presence of her Lord on Tuesday morning, October 19, 2021. Crystal was born in Wayne County to George Edward Jones, Jr. and Ann Powell Worley on February 26, 1973.
Crystal attended Wayne County Public Schools, starting at Grantham School and graduating as a proud "Saint" from Southern Wayne High School. Beginning in middle school, Crystal supported the athletic programs of her schools as a member of the cheering squads. From losses to great victories, practices to competitions, Crystal was faithful in her attendance and support.
Working as a representative with Plexus, Crystal could manage her schedule to ensure that she could spend as much time as necessary caring for her greatest loves: her family. As a homemaker, she excelled in gardening, growing flowers, cooking, baking, and canning. Known for her breads and great cakes, there wasn't much that Crystal couldn't bake. She'd try any recipe, and most often they'd turn out perfectly. If not, she knew just what to do to change something from ordinary to exceptional. Her love for others was shown in her ability to converse with anyone, and many family and friends also received the blessing of her home baked goodies. She was available to help someone anytime and anywhere, and treated everyone like family. To love Crystal was easy, for she offered a genuine spirit of gentleness and friendliness to all.
With an embroidery hoop in her lap and a needle and thread in her hands, Crystal made beautiful cross stitch specialties that adorned many walls, both in her home and in the homes of friends. Creative beyond imagination, Crystal could take anything and create true masterpieces.
A love of nature often took Crystal to the mountains with her family, where they could enjoy the sights and sounds of God's handiwork. Camping in a camper or going for a hike were on Crystal's list of favorite things. Telling stories around the campfire, discovering or creating new trails, and spending time with her family made these trips absolute perfection.
All God's creatures were of importance to Crystal, and many cats and dogs found a loving home with her. Never would they lack for anything with Crystal as their caretaker, for she believed in loving her animals—maybe even spoiling them a little.
Worshiping her Lord faithfully, Crystal was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. Thankful for the love, mercy, and grace of her Savior, Crystal took every opportunity to attend church with her family by her side. She was a witness for Christ to everyone she met, letting His love and light flow through her freely.
As a wife, mother, daughter, and sister, Crystal took great pride in her family. She cherished the relationships she shared with each one, and every person felt as if they were the most important one in her life when they were around her. Her wit was contagious, and to be in her presence brought many laughs, impromptu dancing, and always a good time. Her precious smile brought comfort to her family in times of uncertainty and grief, and her warm embrace made even the worst day a little brighter.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Faith Free Will Baptist Church followed by a service to celebrate Crystal's life at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Christian Powell and Pastor Dann Patrick officiating. Interment will be in Eureka Cemetery.
