Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Bristow Mitchell, 78 are scheduled for 10:00 A.M, Monday, October 25, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church Unity Hall with Waylon Dancer officiating. Interment will follow to Hewitt Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Billy was born August 29, 1943 in Ardmore, OK to the late Mr. Olan Mitchell and Mrs. Ione (Hartnitt) Mitchell. He departed from this life on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in Ardmore, OK.

Billy was raised in Wilson where he attended and graduated from Wilson High School in 1961. He then attended a couple of years at Southeastern and he also attended a Welding School in Tulsa. Billy went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 30 plus years. He met the love of his life, Carol Joice Richardson in the fall of 1961. In 1967, they were married at the First United Methodist Church and have worked and served his church faithfully. Billy loved his church and his nieces and nephews. He was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Etta Jo Mitchell; brother in law, Lonnie Cox; niece Michelle Isbell; nephew, James Olan Thorne; and a great nephew, Matthew Alexander.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Carol Joice Mitchell of the home; sisters, Olene Thorne of Graham, TX and Carolyn Cox of Springer; brother, Kenny Mitchell of Healdton; sister-in-Law, Debbie Schaef of Ardmore: nieces,Cathy Alexander of Ardmore, Cindy Brannan of Madill and Jessica NeRouee of Leneza, KS; Nephews, Andy Thorne and Shane Schaef of Amarillo, TX; great nieces & nephews, Addison & Anslee Schaef, Justin, Jess, and Calli Ramer, Nathan Isbell, Bobby Alexander, Jot, Barrett, Clayton and Lauren Thorne.

Pallbearers are Kenny Mitchell, Rick Brannon, Justin and Jessy Ramer, Bobby Alexander, Nathan Isbell and Shane Schaef.

Honorary Bearers are Robart Kelley, Scott Baird, Sonny Tucker, Gene Griffin, Gary Claxton, and Jerry Mashore
