Funeral services for Mr. Charles Wesley Watkins of Adrian will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Norristown Revival Center in Norristown. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Norristown. Reverend Jack Stafford will officiate. Mr. Watkins died Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home in Adrian.

Mr. Watkins, 76, was born in Adrian on January 21, 1945. He was a lifelong resident of Johnson County, attended school in Adrian, and was a retired self-employed heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing, being "Wesley Watkins BIGGEST Race Fan", but mostly he loved his family and his work with his son. Mr. Watkins was a longtime member of the Norristown Revival Center.

His father, Rabon Watkins; brother, Willie Watkins; and sister-in-law, Mell Lowery Brantley, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Angelia Lowery Watkins; son, Chris Watkins; three daughters, Sebrina Watkins, Selena Watkins, and Melissa (Matt) Collins, all of Adrian; mother, Susie Durden Watkins of Adrian; two brothers, Donnie (Annette) Watkins of Adrian and G.C. (Shirley) Watkins of Smarr; sister, Ann (Bill) Beck of Adrian; three grandchildren, Wesley Watkins, Tyler Wilson, and Sarina Collins; two great-grandchildren, Alena Collins and Jaxon Collins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy and Brenda Lowery and Reverend Jack and Patty Stafford; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Allan Beck, Jared Watkins, Justin Watkins, Peyton Askew, Kyle Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Cameron Dover, and Gary Green. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM Saturday at Higgs Funeral Home in Soperton.
