She was born on March 8, 1931 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Estaline Naomi (Hibbs) Nunneley and Chester Arthur Nunneley.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Eugene and Sam Nunneley, three sisters Mary Carper, Maretta Davis, and Norma Hodges, and her husband of 63 years, Robert Eugene Bennett, Sr.
She is survived by two brothers John and Gene of Caney, Kansas, daughters Eugenia Marie Cook (Arnold Zeller) of Broken Arrow and Katherine Bauer (Timothy) of Haiku, Hawaii, and son Robert Eugene Bennett, Jr. (Sandy) of Broken; two granddaughters Malinda Marie Bennett and Christina Bennett both of Tulsa, grandson Justin Cook (Heather) of Norman, and Robert Eugene Bennett III (Brandy) of Cleveland.
Marie has 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was employed at various companies including Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas, Electra Manufacturing Co., in Independence, Kansas and Cessna Aircraft Co., in Wichita, Kansas.
Marie loved vegetable and flower gardening, and what she didn't immediately use she canned, pickeled or made into jelly and jams.
She also loved to crochet and made beautiful doilies and afghans. But what she enjoyed most was her family who she talked with daily on the phone.
The family would like to thank St. Francis Hospice, especially Shiela RN, Rosie the Nurse Assistant and the Chaplain, Cathy for the wonderful and loving care they provided.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24 from 12 pm - 5pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Graveside services will take place at 1 pm on Monday, October 25 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens- Veteran's Field of Honor.
