She is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Byron and wife Linda of Harrisburg, IL; a sister, Linda Williams and husband Larry of Mt. Vernon, IL; and a brother-in-law, James Hill and wife Vicky of Harrisburg, IL. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, G.L. and Theda Byron; granddaughter, Stephanie Rae Gutzler; father-in-law, Truman Hill; mother-in-law, Thelma Hill Murray; sister-in-law, Carolyn Sue Hill; and nephews, Gregory and Charles Hill.

Patricia (Patty) graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School and became an Army wife shortly thereafter. When Robert (Bob) came back from overseas service, they made their home in Mt. Vernon. Patty was a stay-at-home wife and mother. In February 1970, Bob surrendered to serve the Lord as a minister of the gospel. The family of five moved to Fort Worth, TX for Bob to go to Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary and began his first pastorate in Athens, LA. After graduating from seminary, the family came back to Bluford, IL and served as pastor at First Baptist Church of Bluford for 7 years and then to Ralph Avenue Baptist Church in Louisville, KY for 26 years before retiring to Shelbyville, KY. Becoming a pastor's wife and making many moves proved to be a challenging but rewarding life. Patty enjoyed teaching children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sewing, cooking, fishing and mostly being with her family. In the last few years, she suffered from early stages of terminal Alzheimer's, but she continued to share her great love for Jesus until she left to meet Him face to face. She leaves us temporarily, hoping everyone would receive the gift of Jesus' salvation.

A visitation will be held at Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville, KY on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until service begins at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery following the service.
