Claude Herbert Parker, 92, passed away in the early morning hours in Louisville, KY on Thursday October 21, 2021. Claude was born on June 25, 1929 in Corbin, KY to Everett and Nicie Parker.

He married Marjorie Parker (Medlin) on November 23, 1949, and celebrated 71 years of marriage last year.

He resided between Corbin and Louisville for several years before settling in Louisville. He was in the United States Army and a dedicated employee at L&N Railroad for many years before retiring.

Claude is survived by his 5 children: Brenda McKinney (Gary), Theresa Wilson, Karen Huff, Kimberly Hoff(Jim), and Kevin Parker, his twin brother George, and his beloved dog Luke. Claude also has 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brothers Paul Parker, Raymond Parker, William Parker, Samuel Parker and James Parker, and his sisters Anna Pearl Brasel and Martha Farris.
Claude was a long-time standing member and deacon at Victory Memorial Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also a member of the Suburban Masonic Lodge for many years.

Visitation will be at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin KY on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 10am – 3pm, with funeral service at 3pm with Rev. Johnny Jervis officiating.

Burial will be at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, KY.

A celebration of life will be held in Louisville, KY at a later date.
