GIFFORD, Sandra F. (nee Fisher), went home to heaven on October 20, 2021. She was 88 years of age and of Marlton NJ.

She is the beloved wife of the Reverend Howard S. Gifford. She was preceded in death by son Stephen, grandson Peter and brother John Fisher. She is survived by sons David and Daniel, daughter Susan Elsner and 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Sandra grew up in Erie PA and graduated from Houghton College. Sandy met and married the love of her life, Howard Gifford, in 1956. God called them to serve Methodist congregations in the South Jersey area, including Camden, Millville, Turnersville, and Brick. Additionally, Howard and Sandy served the Union Chapel by the Sea congregation in Ocean City. Sandy directed Vacation Bible School in the 1950s through 1980s for 34 of 39 years.

Sandy's commitment to Jesus Christ, whom she served for 80 years, was evident throughout her life. She quietly served in the background as a Pastor's wife, allowing Howard to serve his churches, and served her family well. She was Director of Christian Education at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Brick. At Wiley Church, Sandra prepared church service and announcements for plasma screens into her eighties.

Special interests included a large collection of manger scenes, various crafts (counted cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting), participating in the "Crafty Gals" club at Wiley. Sandy was known for her many delicious dishes and desserts and created multiple family and church cookbooks.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Saturday from 10-11am at the Wiley Church 99 East Main Street Marlton where a Funeral Service will be held at 11am. Interment will take place Wednesday October 27 at 1:30pm at the Brig. Gen. Wm C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp. NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra's memory to the Wiley Mission 99 East Main St. Marlton NJ 08053.
