Donna Joy Wilkins, a resident of Sterling Heights, passed away on October 18, 2021 at the age of 93. A daughter of Perry and Etta (nee Smith), she was born on May 7, 1928 in Troy.

Donna attended finishing school before starting her career as a librarian for the Hazel Park Memorial Library. She delighted young patrons as a storyteller with stuffed animals for every tale. As those patrons grew older, they still recognized Donna. Prim, proper, and modelesque, Donna appreciated fine art and culture. She attended operas and plays (the Nutcracker was her favorite), and visited the Detroit Institute of Arts. She traveled the country with Berkley tours, as well as with her parents to the western and northeastern states every summer. Donna enjoyed eating at the Masters Restaurant, as well as Italian and Chinese cuisine in Grand Circus Park after a Red Wings or Tigers game. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and active with the Ferndale Senior Center. Donna adored cats and made them a part of her life through clothing, knick-knacks, and stuffed animals.

Dear sister of Thelma and Perry Wilkins. Loving aunt of Larry, Perry (Sue), Raymond, Robert, Richard (Jetta), Linda, and Debbie. Proud great-aunt to Suzette, Sondra, Jason, Jennifer, Jeff, Jim, Tracy, Tricia, Danny, and the late Brian.

A visitation for Donna will be held on Saturday, October 30, from 2:00 until time of service at 4:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blocks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, 48067. Donna will be laid to rest at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
