Joyce Marie Scroggins left this life for her eternal home Thursday, October 21, 2021. By her side were her 3 daughters Brenda, Beverly and Benita along with her sister Jean and niece Kay.
Joyce was born September 13, 1934 in Egypt, OK to Thomas Monroe and Jessie Abbott. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters Dorotha Stiles of Ada, Pauline Dew of Ada and Opheline Myers of Shady Point. 2 brothers Orville Abbott of Albeq, N Mexico and Earl Abbott of LV, Nevada.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 yrs. Rev. Baxter Scroggins, Jr, 1 sister Jean Sims & Preston of Moore, 1 brother Richard Abbott & Delores of Tenn. Her 3 daughters Brenda Poston & James of Harrah, Beverly Jones & Doyle of Duncan and Benita Scroggins of Moore.
Joyce leaves 4 grandchldren . 1 grandson Keith & Tina Morgan of Austin, TX, 3 granddaughters Kristle Morris of Cairo, Egypt, Stacye & Britt McNutt of Harrah and Lacye Poston of Harrah. 3 great-grands Aurora Hindergardt, Ethan Poston, Allison Rempel and 1 granddog Penelope.
A bunch of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Joyce led a simple but full life as a pastor's wife, mother, homemaker, secretary and poet, that we all got to enjoy and an awesome teacher of God's word. She was a charter member of Southgate P. H. Church in Moore. She proudly served by her husband's side through many years of pastoring.
Joyce will be missed by all who knew her.
