Some people are just born to be larger than life, to influence and shape you, to be the rock in your life, you never thought you needed, Calvin O' Williams was just that to so many people, many he never even realized.

Born November 9, 1924 in Milford, NE to Melvern and Laura Williams, Calvin, more often known as Tipp or Poppy to his family, devoted his life to serving not only his family, but his country at the young age of only 16. Tipp selflessly gave up his dream of professional football and served his country in the United States Navy for 10 years, through 2 wars. This was just the beginning of the countless lives Tipp impacted in the almost 97 years he lived.

As one of 10 children, Tipp learned young the importance of family, love, and laughter and truly embodied every single one of those his entire life. From keeping everyone hysterical with his "Poppy-isms", a full list of daily sayings that truly brightened everyone's day, every day, to giving everything he had to simply make sure his entire family was happy, healthy, and taken care of in every way, to loving his wife Patsy of almost 67 years, without fail every single day of his life even after she was no longer here on earth with us, Tipp was a true example of just what a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather should be.

With 1 surviving brother- Ron Williams, 4 surviving children- Tamara Doyal, Kimm Manley, Regan Williams, and Rick Williams, 13 grandkids plus spouses, 28 and counting great grandkids, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and of course all of the friends, co-workers, and so many he mentored along the way, Tipp's larger than life personality made it impossible to not love him, giving him a family so much larger than just blood. He was constantly teaching, helping, and mentoring not only his kids and grandkids, but so many others throughout his 53 year career with the Chevrolet General Motors corporation.

Beyond his passion for his lifelong career, though, above all else Tipp's life was filled to overflowing with making memories with his family. From hosting annual Pismo Beach summer vacations with the entire family together under one roof, kids, grandkids, and even family friends alike, to backyard BBQs for every holiday with a side of homemade ice cream on their driveway, to grandkid slumber parties on Saturday nights, to making sure not to miss a Sunday morning church service with the love of his life Patsy. Tipp was the husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather everyone always wanted and his family was beyond blessed to have.

Although Tipp's life here on Earth ended October 20, 2021, and his family and friends will forever miss him, they are comforted knowing that he is back in the arms of the love of his life, simply continuing one of the greatest love stories ever known.
