Phyllis Hicks, age 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Thursday morning, April 1st, 2021 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. She was born on February 24th, 1949, in Athens, Tennessee to the late Emmitt and Betty (Pendergrass) Hicks.

Phyllis is survived by her four children Angela (John) Johnson of Joliet, Christine (William) Hensley of Missouri, Danielle (Chad) Skelton of Verona, and Brian Ferris of Odell; grandchildren, Ryan (Kori) Johnson of Elwood, Joshua (Megan) Johnson of Manhattan, Tamara Moore of Missouri, Kayla Moore of Missouri, Michael (Sarah) Hensley of Missouri, William (Megan Mae) Hensley of Missouri, Megan Hensley of Missouri, Tori Skelton of Verona, and Braden Skelton of Verona; six great-grandchildren; five brothers, Charles (Dottie) Hicks of Troy, James (late Judith) Hicks of Joliet, Randy (Jill) of Indiana, Kerry Hicks of Bourbonnais, and Kevin Hicks of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Steven, Terry, and Kenneth Hicks.

Phyllis was retired from Ecolab as a line operator. The greatest joys in her life was spending quality time with family and close friends where she shared her love for the Lord. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, and feeding everyone around her.

A private funeral service with family and close friends will be held at Joliet Church of God, 1917 S. Chicago St, Joliet, IL on Saturday, April 24th at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Phyllis' name may be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Waterstone Cir, Joliet, IL 60431 (www.joliethospice.org.)
