Chester McArthur Baker was born January 14, 1955, the first son of Chester Baker and Vera (Dotson) Baker, in Centerville, Texas.

Chester confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, under the leadership of the late Rev. L.W. Wilson and continued to walk with Christ throughout his life.

He attended Hopewell Elementary School and Douglas High School in Centerville, Texas. He attended MHMR Assisted Living workshop in Madisonville, Texas.

His hobbies were listening to gospel music; his favorite songs were "I'm Not Too Young To Serve The Lord" and "I Love the Lord." Lee Williams was Chester's favorite gospel singer. He also liked to restore antique items. He could watch Westerns all day. The highlight of his day was to drive the truck to the mailbox to get the mail. His favorite foods were fish and barbeque.

On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, Chester left his earthly body to be with his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his father, Chester Baker.

Those Chester leaves behind to cherish his loving memories are mother, Vera Baker of Centerville and one brother, Mark L. Baker of Centerville, as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Chester McArthur Baker will be missed dearly but will live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved him.

Homegoing services for Chester will be held 10 A.M., Friday, October 22, 2021 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 21st from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
