Patricia Nicholson passed away on September 23 at her home in Severna Park.
Born August 26, 1939 to Ruth and Ward Tiernan, she was raised in Baltimore, graduating from Milford Mill High School; and later completing a Business Certificate at the YMCA Business College in 1957. She apprenticed as a printer at King Brothers and the Baltimore Sun; and found her home of 30 plus years at The Washington Post, where she was one of a handful of women printers.

She was a proud member of the Columbia Typographical Union, and remained Union Strong in her retirement. She loved her family, her community, her pets, her daily newspapers, music and sports.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Denise Paul; her goddaughter Deborah Street; her nieces, Kimberly Fontelieu & Tracey Tiernan (and their families); loving sister to the late Mark and Clay Tiernan; and was known in her community as Grandma, especially to Sarah, Ryan & Lisa.
A private Celebration of Life is planned for her family and friends.
