The Rev. Dr. Jack Martin Beaver, 82, slipped into eternity after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Solace Hospice Center in Asheville, NC.

Jack was born in Charlotte, NC in 1939. He graduated from King University, Bristol, TN; attended Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, VA; and received a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate from Erskine Theological Seminary, Due West, SC.

In his early years of ministry, Jack supplied several churches in SC and was the pastor of the Spencer Presbyterian Church, Spencer, NC. For thirty-six years, he was the chaplain of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, Rabun Gap, GA, and for almost thirty of those years, he was also the minister of the Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church. Upon his retirement from the church, he was made Pastor Emeritus. After moving to Black Mountain, Jack became a member of Western North Carolina Presbytery.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents Roscoe D. Beaver and Nina West Beaver, his brother, Taylor D. Beaver, and his grandson, Jesse Thomas Gibbs.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Nancy Dixon DuPuy Beaver, daughter, Jacquelyn Beaver Gibbs (Paul), son Michael Beaver (Kristy), and grandchildren Emily Beaver, Rachel Beaver, John Gibbs, Josiah Gibbs, and Joseph Gibbs.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
