After serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy, Richard earned a Bachelors of Science from Old Dominion University. He worked as comptroller for several local car dealerships over the years, retiring from Williams Honda in Hampton, VA. After retirement he devoted his time to Katherine and to being a major part of his grandsons' lives.
Richard is survived by his son, Robert; grandsons, Kyle and Kody; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 10AM with military honors. A visitation will be held before the service from 8 AM to 9 AM at Baker-Foster Funeral Home.
