Steven "Steve" Irvin Morris, 72, of Walkertown, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 18, 2021, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Born, November 28, 1948, in Forsyth County, Steve was the son of the late Irvin Wesley Morris and the late Wanda Hastings Morris. He married the love of his life Barbara "Midge" Withers on January 2, 1972. After graduating from East Forsyth High School and Forsyth Tech, he joined the United States Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam conflict. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV. He made many friends while driving for Leaseway Transportation and UPS before retirement. Steve volunteered for more than 30 years with the Walkertown Volunteer Fire Department.

Steve loved camping, cookouts, fishing, being on a tractor or mower, gardening, playing pranks on his family, traveling to Wilmington, regular trips to Webster Brother's Hardware, crocheting, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He was lovingly known as "Dad" by much of the family, especially his sisters-in-law.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Midge, of the home; daughters, Allison Morris of Walkertown, Karen Morris of Greensboro; and brother, Terry Morris of Walkertown. Steve was preceded in death by his beloved sister Vickie Morris Howell.
