On the morning of July 4th, the angels peacefully took Alice C. Coleman (nee Zigenfus) to reunite with her beloved husband, William (Bill) Coleman on what would have been his 91st birthday. Alice was a lifelong resident of Beverly and passed away at the age of 91.
At Heaven's gate, she was met by her parents, Helen (nee Parker) and Elwood Zigenfus; siblings and their spouses, Katherine Lindsey (Paul), Elwood, Jr., also known as Buddy/Ziggy (Dolores Bowers) and Virginia Harding (George). She was greeted by her niece, Dana Zigenfus and nephew, Stephen T. Kelly.
Alice is survived by her devoted sister, Helen and her husband Jim Kelly. She leaves behind many special nieces and nephews who treasured her dearly and knew her affectionately as Aunt Hon. Alice also leaves behind a dear friend in Dr. W. A. Dow of Beverly. She will be sadly missed by her many relatives and friends.
She loved her pets, Baby and Lucy, who both gave her so much pleasure.
Alice was a member of St. Joseph's R. C. Church in Beverly. Her greatest joy in life was found in loving her family and friends and we were blessed by her love. Alice liked picking fresh vegetables every summer at area farms. She crocheted and embroidered many beautiful works of art that were given to her family and friends. She was a wonderful cook and shared many family recipes with all of us who loved her.
The family invites you to attend service on Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Joseph's R. C., 524 Warren St., Beverly, NJ 08010. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Calling hours will be at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be at the Monument Cemetery, Edgewater Park, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Beverly Emergency Squad, St. Joseph's R. C. Church, 524 Warren Street, Beverly, NJ 08010, or any charity or organization of your choosing. Any random act of kindness done to honor her memory would be cherished by her in Heaven.
