Dr. McCallister was born on October 24, 1935, in Markleville, Indiana, to the late George and Elizabeth (Atwood) McCallister.
He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1959. His Internship was at Los Angeles County Medical Center in 1960. He was a practicing physician in Muncie, Indiana, since 1963. In addition to spending time with his family and collecting early American furniture, he loved woodworking. He also enjoyed ironworking, cooking, farming, and collecting fountain pens.
Larry is survived by his loving partner of 44 years, Nina Paulson; his children, Cynthia McCallister, Kathleen Warner, Rebecca Hall, Ross McCallister, Lee (wife, Masha) McCallister, and Kelli (husband, Matt) Lee; twelve grandsons; and seven granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
