Jean Beaven Baker of Bel Air, MD, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Inspirations Memory Care of Lutherville, MD. She was 89 years old.

Mrs. Baker was born at home in Hillsboro, MD and was the daughter of the late Milton W. Beaven and Ruth Lucas Beaven. She had graduated from the Johns Hopkins Nursing School and began her nursing career at the Deer's Head Hospital in Salisbury, MD. She retired from the Harford County Health Department where she was a Home Health Care Nurse for many years.
She loved the culture and food of her childhood home, Hillsboro, on Maryland's Eastern Shore. But, most of all, she loved her family and her granddaughters.

Mrs. Baker is survived by two sons: Adrian Baker (Kristin) of Chestertown, MD, and Russell Baker (Susan) of Westminster, MD; a sister, Margaret Eveland of Cordova, MD; four granddaughters: Grace Giannaras (Billy), Madelyn Baker, Allison Baker, and Lauren Baker; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Anne Beaven Brunelle; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Eveland and Robert Brunelle.

A memorial service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to help maintain Hillsboro's St. Paul's Church by sending a memorial check to The Episcopal Diocese of Easton with the memo: "Baker/St. Paul's Cemetery", sent to The Episcopal Diocese of Easton, 314 North Street, Easton, MD 21601.
