She married:
1) Thurman "Red" Arvil Kennedy on 6 Nov 1948 in Desha Co AR, the son of Charles Andrew & Alma Lou (Sandlin) Kennedy of Perry Co AR. Red died on 11 Aug 1955 in Oceanside, San Diego Co CA.
2) Richard E McCreery on 2 Jul 1958 in San Diego Co CA.
Virginia never had children, but she loved animals and her bulldogs were her "babies". As a member of the English Bulldog Kennel Club, she attended many shows in which her "babies" were contestants. Several were winners who filled her home with trophies, but her favorite was Tammy Darling. When Tammy passed, I took Virginia to the pet cemetery where she made arrangements for the final resting place of her beloved baby.
Virginia was funny and vivacious, with a big, bright smile and contagious laughter. She was tall like a model, with beautiful dark copper-red hair that literally sparkled in the sunlight. I remember she was meticulous, and also fun-loving and happy.
In later years, Aunt V, as my daughters called her, was a much more private lady. Eventually she was unable to care for her many beloved bulldogs.
Rest in peace dear Virginia, you are missed so very much.
