Marcia Ann (Oscar) Allen, 80, of Grand Island passed away at home on Monday, October 18, 2021.

Marcia is survived by her son, Mark V. Poit of Waterloo, NE; step-son, Daniel E. (Nadine) Allen Jr. of Franklin, NJ; step-daughters, Judith (Robert) Marcucci of NC, Nancy (David) Schumacher of Highland Lakes, NJ, and Penny Davis of Waldwick, NJ; brothers, Richard (Janet) Oscar of Essex Fells, NJ, Kenneth (Barbara) Oscar of Fairfax Station, VA, and Michael (Joyce) Oscar of Wayne, NJ; 14 step grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marcia is preceded in death by her husbands' Victor P. Poit and Daniel E. Allen Sr.; parents and grandson, Shawn Allen.

Marcia was born in Greenwich, Conn, daughter of John and Stella (Rauch) Oscar. The family moved to Buffalo, NY when she was 7, then to Norwalk, CT, when she was 12. She graduated from Stamford, CT High School and worked in Perkin Elmer, General Electric and Connecticut Light and Power Company. Then as assistant illustrator at Sikorsky Division of United Aircraft.

She married, raised a family, then in 1972, moved to New Jersey and married Daniel E. Allen Jr., on July 13, 1974. They moved to Grand Island in 1976, then to Nysted, NE in 1978, and back to Grand Island in 1993 to the Golden Age Village Apartments.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Marcia ran her own craft shop, after working in other craft stores in Grand Island for many years first. Her shop was called "Marcia's Homemade Crafts" and she enjoyed working and teaching all kinds of handcrafts all her life. There is not a family member or friend who does not have a needlepoint, tatted or crocheted item of hers to remember her by, be it a baby blanket, Afghan, Christmas ornament, Barbie doll clothes, name doilies or even a bookmark. She loved to gift people with her talents.

Marcia was a member of Grace Covenant Church in Grand Island, and was also active in Sunday School and Bible Studies. Marcia also volunteered several years at St. Francis Hospital.
