∼COCOA BEACH, Fla. — Frank D. Ursone Jr., 74, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., died unexpectedly at his home on Aug. 28, 2009.
Mr. Ursone was born on Aug. 10, 1935, in Norfolk. He was the son of the late Frank D. Ursone M.D. and Clementina M. (D'Angelo) Ursone. He attended local schools and graduated from The Gilbert School in Winsted. He attended the University of Miami and graduated from electronics technical school. He worked as an electronic technician for Boeing in New Orleans and at Cape Canaveral (Kennedy Space Center) on the Saturn Five rocket. He later became a union electrician, traveling throughout the U.S., working on plants and buildings, including construction of City Place in Hartford. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a sister, Maria U. Stewart of Lakewood, N.J., a brother and sister-in-law, John and Sanda Ursone of Winsted, eight nieces and nephews and 21 grand nieces and nephews. He also leaves his long time companion June Wright. He was predeceased by a sister, Paula U. Lombardi.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 10, at Immaculate Conception Church, 4 North St., Norfolk.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beardsley & Memorial Library Computer Software Project, 40 Munro Place, Winsted, CT 06098.
