Doris L. (Hallenbeck) Ward, 100, a lifelong resident of Schenectady, passed away on Tuesday, October 19th under compassionate Hospice care at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia after a short illness.

Born and educated in Schenectady, she is the daughter of the late Raymond and Isabella (Hewitt) Hallenbeck. She graduated from the former Draper High School Class of 1938 in Rotterdam, NY and had a 36-year career with the General Electric Company in Schenectady in the Data Processing Department retiring in 1976.

Doris was a member of the former Carman United Methodist Church, a member of the Ballston Spa Country Club, the G.E. Women's Club, the G.E. Quarter Century Club and was an avid NY Yankees follower. Doris was a huge fan of and frequent visitor to Newest Lunch on Albany Street in Schenectady where she and the restaurant both celebrated their 100th birthdays this year.

Predeceased by her husband Albert A. Ward in 1945, Doris was also predeceased by a dear friend Charles "Chuck" Conaughty; and siblings Vera (Hallenbeck) Hulsaver, Ethel M. (Hallenbeck) Winslow, Raymond E. Hallenbeck, Bette J. (Hallenbeck) Coughlin and James W. Hallenbeck.

Doris is survived by her siblings Shirley (Hallenbeck) Waddell of Hobe Sound, FL, Miriam (Hallenbeck) Mastrianni of Bolton Landing, and Robert B. Hallenbeck of Schenectady where she and her brother Bobbie lived in the original Hallenbeck homestead in the Carman area. She is also survived by sister-in-law Leslie Sittner of Ballston Spa and 19 beloved nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Above all, Doris was a loving wife, devoted companion, sister, aunt, and friend.

Services for Doris will be private.
