She was born in Charlotte, NC and spent most of her life in Charlotte and Belmont. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Ruth Simonds, and brothers Roy Stokes, Raymond Stokes, and Larry Stokes and her loving husband, Lonnie Thomas Bond, Jr. She leaves behind her sister, Oma Lee (Mike) Armstrong and brother, Bunk Stokes, who hold many stories of her strength, resilience, and tenacity.
Pauline epitomized the word matriarch, having five children who will miss her forever: Rick Bond, Sr., Pamela Chapman, Rebecca (Lyle) Hayman, Shay (John) Brunderman and Tommy (Jamie) Bond. Option 2 In addition to her children, she leaves behind a legacy of nine grandchildren: Ricky Bond, Jr., Jessica Chapman, Casey (Bobby) Om, Meredith (Jeff) Kloska, Jesse Kesterson, Josh Hayman, Camryn Hayman, Natalie Bond and Zachary Bond. Her two great grandchildren, Carter and Kaleb Om, will always know her affectionately as Gigi.
Pauline was a hard worker, having held different careers but the two she was most proud of was waitressing and becoming a business owner of Bond Carpet and Floor Covering in Charlotte. She had a strong Christian faith and was a proud member of Flint Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia. When she wasn't spending time with her family, she enjoyed volunteering at the Community House at Church, singing in the Senior Choir and gardening. Anyone who met Pauline knew her as funny, feisty, smart, independent, and strong willed. She will always be loved and missed but her family rests knowing she is in the arms of Jesus.
