William "Bill" Curtis Mason, 79, of Boiling Springs, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021. Mr. Mason was born in Spartanburg, S.C. on July 1, 1942. He was a son of the late Leroy and Molly Catherine Lowe Mason. Mr. Mason was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and was retired from The Spartanburg Herald Journal. He loved his church, First Baptist Valley Falls, where he was chairman of the Deacons, taught Sunday School, Training Union, and planned trips for the senior citizens. Mr. Mason sang with Valley Echo Quartet and loved southern gospel music and the songs of the Baptist Hymnal. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who enjoyed spending every Sunday with his family. Bill Mason enjoyed spending time with family and never gave up on anyone! Always wore a smile. He was a strong fighter until the very end.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Gail Mason, is a daughter, Tammy Mason Nolen; a brother, Bobby Gene Mason and wife Kay; grandchildren, Tamara Nolen, Megan Bishop and husband Chris, Connor Lee Mason and wife Makayla, and William Cole Mason and wife Elisa; great-grandchildren, Shance Parks, Grayson Bishop, Jackson Bishop, Erickson Bishop, Michael Waters, Baker Reid Mason, Molly Catherine Mason, and one great-grandson on the way, Walker Mason; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mason was predeceased by a son, Curtis Lee Mason; a grandson, Coleson Bishop; and a brother, Ronnie Wayne Mason.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
