James Richard "Rick" Moran Sr., 71, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away on October 13, 2021 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata.

Born on November 23, 1949 in Cheverly, Maryland, he was the son of the late James William Moran and Ethel Moran. Rick worked for Clinton Fence constructing and repairing fencing. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rick loved fishing and crabbing. He enjoyed being outside working in the garden. Rick also loved spending time with his family, especially time with grandchildren. He was an amazing caregiver to Sabrina, his special needs granddaughter. She was the "light of his life".

Rick is survived by his wife Theresa A. Moran; sons J. Richard Moran II, William J. Moran, Phillip M. Moran, and Timothy A. Moran; daughter Constance Renee (Moran) Wright; step-sons Patrick M. Anderson, Jeffrey T. Anderson, and Stephen A. Anderson; step-daughter Sarah D. Anderson; "adopted daughter" Tiffany (Emmart) Samson; grandchildren Jessica, Sabrina, Harper, Raelynn, TJ, Brinleigh and Will Moran, Ysabelle and Mayumi Anderson; siblings Walter Moran, Marsha Trahan, and Nancy Bell.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 9AM until time of Mass at 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646.
