Sadie Kathrine Mullin Mabe, 98, of Route 4 Box 75 (Brushfork), Bluefield, died on Thursday, December 6, 2007 in a Bluefield, Va., nursing home.

Born on December 9, 1908 in Durhing, she was a daughter of the late Chester B. and Kate Arrington Mullin. She had been a resident of Rt. 4, Bluefield for 57 years and was a member of the Durhing Church of Christ. She was a devoted mother, teacher and seamstress. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Roy Mabe; one brother, Fred Mullin; and four sisters, Ruth Mabe, Alma Lusk, Viola Foy, and Amy Mullin.

Survivors include: Son: Leroy Mabe of Bluefield, Va.; Daughter: Betty Lou Mabe of Bluefield, Va.; one brother: William C. Mullin of Seabrook, Md.; one sister: Vera Keys of Bluefield; one sister-in-law: Viola Mabe Webb of Princeton; special caregivers: Connie Mitchem and May Rosenthal.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Frank Watkins officiating.

Friends may call on Saturday from 5:00- 7:00 prior to services.

Burial will follow on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend graveside services are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
