Obituary: Nina O. Cummings, 91, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday evening, December 4, 2007, at a Baytown healthcare facility. Born in Crossett, Arkansas on July 11, 1916, she was the youngest of ten children born to Preston and Mallie Howell Bond. A longtime resident of Haynesville, Louisiana, Nina was an active member of Haynesville United Methodist Church, along with Howard, her husband of 65 years, and she was active in Eastern Star. After Howard's death on May 27, 2001, she continued to live in Haynesville until she moved to Baytown three years ago.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Howard and her daughter, Mary Lea Dunn. She is survived by her son, Dr. David H. Cummings and his wife, Frances, of Baytown; brothers, Travis Bonds of Morrilton, AR and Bobby Bonds of Texarkana, AR; grandchildren, David A. Cummings and wife, Kelly, of Houston, Michele Box and husband, Richard, of Baytown, Scott Dunn and wife, Barbara, of Oak Grove, LA, Mark Dunn and wife, Becky, of McGehee, AR, and Kelly Dunn of Dermott, AR; great grandchildren, Matthew Cummings, Kirby Cummings, Garrett Box, Alyssa Box, Mary Rebecka Dunn, Katlynn Dunn and Jeffery Dunn.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, December 8, at Crespo & Jirrels. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2007, at Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, LA, with Rev. Rich Cockburn, officiating.
