Corydon, Indiana - Paul "Pod" E. Cunningham, 93, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, in Corydon, Indiana. He was born February 21, 1928, in Corydon, Indiana to Clarence Hays Cunningham and Elsie Pearl Lang Cunningham.

He worked manufacturing appliances for many years, was a member of the 432nd Engineer Construction Battalion in the US Army. He served in the Korean War where he built portable bridges for tanks to cross. He was also a member of the Corydon VFW and he loved to fish and hunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Goldie Mae Sanders.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Troncin Cunningham of Corydon, Indiana, Daughter, Kathy Jo Schaffer, of New Albany, Indiana, brother, Allen Cunningham of Sudlersville, Maryland, sister, Betty Mathes(Larry), of Corydon, Indiana, 2 granddaughters, Laurel Schaffer(Tom Marr), of Louisville, Kentucky, Olivia Schaffer(Jacob Kincheloe), of Palmyra, Indiana, 2 great granddaughters, Adelyn and Kennedy Marr, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral ceremony will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Pastor Webby Oglesby will preside. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 21 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be in Louden's Chapel Cemetery in Depauw, Indiana.
