Robert C. McLaughlin Sr. and longtime resident of Pepperell, died October 16, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Liz" (Shallow) McLaughlin. Robert is survived by his loving children Robert Jr. and his wife Karen of Hanson, MA, Roseann Campbell of Las Vegas, NV, Michael and his wife Fran of Merrimack NH, Paul and his wife Robin of Billerica, MA, Philip and his wife Leslie of Pepperell, MA, Nancy of Brookline, NH, Brian and his wife Kim of Billerica, MA, David and his girlfriend of Lowell, MA. Robert is also survived by his sisters Margaret Dooley of Derry, NH, Antonia Therrien of Manchester, NH, Rita Lewis of Wilmington, MA; and his 8 grandchildren as well as 2 great-grandchildren with another one on the way. Robert is also survived by his friend Richard of Brookline, NH.
After graduating high school, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country in World War II as a Sergeant in the 6th Infantry Division in the Southwest Pacific. A decorated veteran, Robert was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Army Good Conduct, American Campaign Medal, Asian-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, WW2 Victory Medal, and the Navy Occupation Service Medal.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brothers James, William, John, Francis; and his sisters Kate Campobasso and Patricia Haggis.
Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton.
His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshiping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell St., Pepperell, MA. Burial with U.S. Army Military Honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA.
