James Dickey 'Dick' Hopkins, Jr., age 79 of Covington, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Hopkins; son, James R. Hopkins; daughter and son-in-law, Marika and Kerry Holcombe; grandchildren, Samantha Hopkins, Breanna Holcombe, Ryan Hopkins, Paige Holcombe, Logan Holcombe; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Rita Hopkins; and niece, Meg Phillips. He enjoyed fishing and motorcycles and was a member of GWRRA, Gold Wing Road Riders Association. The family will receive friends at a visitation Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Scot Ward Funeral Services. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial, 3001 Black Shoals Road NE, Conyers, GA 30012. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
