Funeral services for Mrs. Chloris Edgar, 88, a former North Henderson resident, who died Wednesday at the Marigold Nursing Center, Galesburg, ill be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hoover Memorial Chapel, Alexis. The Rev. Bruce Baker, pastor of the Alexis United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery at North Henderson.
Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and memorials may be made to the North Henderson United Methodist Church.
The former Chloris Worden was born Jan. 6, 1896, at Prairie City, Ill., a daughter of Avery and Martha Love Worden. She spent her early life in McDonough County and was graduated from Cottage Hospital School of Nursing, Galesburg.
On Aug. 28, 1929, she was married to George Edgar at Milan. They resided in North Henderson. He died in June of 1969.
She was a member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church and Floral Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Schmidt of Chicago; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Reed of Pekin and Mrs. Ruth Honeycutt in California.
